Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

I have a small college and I want to give my students free training in exchange for my later employment as my employees. The training is six months during which I do not pay them a salary, and after that I want them to commit to working for me for two years at a predetermined salary. If they leave during the two years, they have to reimburse me for the training. I want to make sure this is legal in Texas.

This is like a contract that's permissible so long as they are aware of all the terms of the contract at the inception of the agreement and as long as the predetermined salary is comparable to the ongoing rate in the industry. Additionally, the contract should stipulate that they have consulted with an attorney before signing the contract. This means you shouldn't tell them to "sign right now." Let them have it for at least one day.
