Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
What's my next step
I am being threatened by last employer. He doesn't want me to continue an appeal for UI benefits or ''he will file charges against me''.I know I would win in coutrt I am completely innocent. I am concerned because I have a record and last employer is owner/brother-in-law. He has the means to make happen whatever he wants. Most Important I have a 9 yr. old daughter that would be devastated. She'd end up where CPS? Who decides what evidence is & how much does one's past come in to play when a warrant is issued? I worked for company ten years. He still owes me as well for forty hrs. vacation time. I desperately need my income. I'm 49 -hard after this long to find employ with pay & benefits to match what I had. What do I do???

File a Texas Pay day Act claim with the Texas Workforce Commission for the unpaid vacation. You must do that within 180 days of the day you should have been paid for the vacation.
