Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

No sue agreement on termination

Does an agreement to forego suit as a requirement to receive severence pay have any validity? A person is laid off but required to sign an agreement to receive 3 week severance pay. Could a person sign, take the money, and still take legal action if evidence of wrong doing surfaced later? Thank you.
