Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
termination
My brother was fired from his job because his employer heard that he had a misdemeanor on his record. Can they do this? He recently started to get hours after not being able to get any for months. It seems to me that they were just looking for a way to get rid of him. Is this legal?

Re: termination
There is not a anti-retaliation law in Texas that protects people with criminal convictions. Still, the motivation and method of termination should be examined on a case by case basis to determine if any redress are available.
