Texas Labor Law

Is is legal to make a server pay for a tab someone walks out on? I am a restaurant manager and my company has always said it is illegal, but I know of other restaurants that make their servers pay for walked checks.

Might makes right..and while it may not be legal, it is costly to enforce. Even going to small claims court costs $90 or more..but such owners should be...castigated..
