Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

union member

i have been a member of my local for over 20 years and i have in the past looked outside the union for my own jobs...never a problem...up until now.

the jobs going out of the hall are few and far between...2 weeks here and there...then back to the hall,the non union jobs are everywhere, guys doing the same craft and earning twice as much, travel pay..truck pay ect.

i hired on with a company and now the local rep is asking around for me since i turn down jobs on the list

i've been warned before and threatened with the ''e board'', charges possibly filed, kicked out im sure. dont i have a right to earn a living and make as much as a non union ? im not the only one but seem to be the target ,im not sure what my rights are and trust noone at the local hall to stand by me. what options do i have if and when they discover im working non union?

You need a lawyer to review the union rules and/or a comember who knows them..and be willing to fight. Unfortunately, most lawyers may not be knowledgeable or willing to help. I am not..but would look at your case if contacted
