Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Wal-Mart requiring employees to work on their day off

At the Wal-Mart Distribution center, there are 3 shifts: A1, A2, and B1. I work during the A2 Shift which is Tuesday thru Friday from 4pm to 2 am. The A1 works Tues-Fri from 6am to 4 pm and B1 works sat-mon. Because of the high volume of holiday freight, just yesterday the upper management have made it mandatory that the A1 shift work on Saturday from 6pm to 4 am and my shift, A2 work on Monday from 6pm to 4am. Essentially, the A1 and A2 shifts are being required to work on their days off. Does Wal-Mart have the legal right to force employees to come in and work on their day off?

Yes, as long as you are paid overtime if applicable.
