Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

hello, and thank you: ok, my wife was working a full time job, after she was laid off, by her employer, due to sickness, so they called her back and promised her a full time job again, now they say the end of this month, she must leave, because the person that was there is coming back at the end of this month, so i'm very upset over that fact, that, they made her leave a job, and now, they're getting rid of her, can they do that? help me please

Yes, what they did was probably legal.

In Texas, you can be fired for any reason or for no reason, and your employer can jack you around in many different ways, and no law is broken. In the same way, you can quit your job, walk off, stop showing up, and they can't sue YOU, even if your absence causes them problems.

The exception is if you are fired for being a Jew, or for being a Jehovah's Witness, or for being Asian, or for being a woman (these are called "suspect classes").
