i work more than 40 hrs per week but my mgr makes me falsify my timesheet to only show 40 hrs and i dont get paid for overtime. do i have recourse?

You most likely have recourse. If you are a non-exempt employee (or are paid hourly) and your employer is covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act, you generally should be paid for all hours worked and overtime for hours worked in excess of 40. As there are a number of exceptions to the general overtime law, I recommend contacting an employee-side employment lawyer immediately. That individual should be able to look at your case specifically and give you a precise answer as to whether you are entitled to overtime or additional payment. In addition, the Department of Labor's web site has good resources as to the laws governing overtime.
