Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
I have been working for H.E.B for about 3yrs now. I had a set schedule where I would for the week and be off the weekend. im a single mother of 4 and I put my kids thru daycare during the week. and I cant afford to hire a babe sitter for weekends. my question is can they fire me cause I can't work the weekend. They new this hiring me. its been 3yrs. can they do that.

Texas is an at-will employment state meaning you can be fired for no reason (except illegal discrimination.) You would be qualified for unemployment while you look for a job if you cannot change schedules because of your children.
