Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
wrongful firing??
the LP took me into the office and questioned me for a over an hour. I admitted to using a coupon left behind by a customer one time in the past. The total was worth $7.83. No where in the company policy did it say that we were not allowed to use store coupons left behind by customers. The incident occured more than 2 months prior. The next day my manager pulled me into the office after being there only 15 minutes. He terminated me and had me pay back the $7.83 as well. Now I am listed in a National Workplace Database as being fired for coupon fraud. I just recieved a notice from a potential employer stating that the information included in the database will most likely adversely affect my employemnt status with them. Do I have a case at all?

Re: wrongful firing??
No. You clearly violated a company policy, and arguably committed a criminal act. Hopefully, you can explain your conduct and get a new job. Needless to say, don't do it or anything similar again.
