Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas
Wrongful Termination
This is on behalf of my mother. She worked at an apartment complex for about a year. They fired the lead maintence and replaced him with a man who spoke very little english. He told my mother that she was a women and this was not a job for her, she should be home having kids. She talked to her boss and nothing was done. A week later they terminated her, when she asked the manager why she was being terminated the manger responded with because you don't get along with mr. so and so. My mom then asked ''so because I don't speak spanish, we don't get along and you are terminating me?'' the manger said ''yes'' is that a wrongful cause? When she was hired there was nothing stating she had to speak spanish. Also since she lived on the property she worked for they gave her 60 hours to move out when it's supposed to be 72 hours.

Re: Wrongful Termination
Your mother needs to see a lawyer who handles wrongful termination/discrimination...and she needs to report to the Texas Human Rights Commission or the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for sexual discrimination...and she does not have to move with 72 hours notice but they have to evict her with eviction through the Justice of the Peace....but get legal help in your area
