Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

I have a 3 bedroom house that I rent to a man who has recently been put in jail without bond. He has a hearing on June 6, but his court date is noy until August 9. I have asked him to vacate the premises. He said he would, but, of course, he has not. He has paid the rent through May 10. Is it possible for me to evict him? I really don't want the property to sit vacant even if he does pay the rent.

Do you have a written lease with him? What rights does it give you with regard to eviction?

If there's no written lease, then it's a month-to-month tenancy, and you can do what most landlords do: Triple the rent. When he doesn't pay, you evict him.
