Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

I am in a 12 month lease with an apartment and the lease is up sept 6. However, there are raccoons in the walls of my apartments. The raccoons have been there for over a month. The apartment has been notified for a month, but are giving me the run around. I've had to put in 3 maintenance requests with 3 different employees due to request "not being on file". I've even sent a certified letter that was signed for. Is this grounds for lease termination?

You need to review your lease and any attachments to make sure the landlord is in breach.

Landlords have an obligation to provide you premises that are habitable.

Your lease is almost up. It probably requires that you provide notice that you are going to be moving out. I suggest that you provide notice that you will not be renewing and cite their failure to comply with your maintenance requests as the reason.
