Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

accelerated rent after a 30 days notice

we gave the management at our apartment complex a 30 days notice that we would be leaving for health reasons (i cant go up-stairs and the only bathroom is up there), and they put a note in my door saying that we would be responsible for the remaining 4 months, but my lease states that if we give at least 30 days notice than the lease will end. is this legal in the state of texas??

Re: accelerated rent after a 30 days notice

Both landlord and tenant are bound by the legal terms of the lease. If your lease has that provision, it would be unusual, but probably enforceable against the landlord. Be sure that it releases you from the lease, not breaches the lease.
