Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Our apartment was robbed a month ago, but luckily we have renters insurance for our property. Last week, we received a bill for the window that the burglar broke to gain entry into our apartment, with a copy of our lease which includes a single line saying that if it couldn't be proven that the fault for damage is theirs, we are responsible for damages. I always assumed in the case of burglary, the property owner would have insurance to cover that type of damage. And of course, our renter's insurance doesn't cover property damage. Are we actually obligated to pay for damage that we didn't cause, or do we have legal recourse for not paying this bill?

You need to have an attorney review the lease and the insurance policy.
