Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
Apartment transfer
I am wanting to transfer to a bigger apartment within the same complex, but my lease isn't up and our landlord is charging us any concessions plus a deposit is that right? We got one month free when we moved in. Do we have to pay that even if we are staying within the same complex.

Re: Apartment transfer
You need to read the terms of the lease. If you are breaking the lease, outside the terms of the lease, then the complex can impose penalties, if they are reasonable and mitigated, and fully documented. There are very specific rules for deposits, and if a new one is required, then the refund/withholding of the first one must conform to the law.
