Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

April 1st notice

We have heard the apt complex owners will be giving everyone 30 days notice on April 1. My lease ends June 30. Am I obligated to pay April rent if I am out of the apartment within a day or two? Will I still get deposits back? Am I considered to be breaking the lease if I leave April 2-3 without paying rent?

Re: April 1st notice

It is difficult to answer your questions without seeing a copy of the lease. If your lease does not expire until June 30 and you have no violations, it is hard to see how you could be evicted before the lease expires (unless there is a provision in the lease that allows the landlord to do so).

Generally, tenants are entitled to a refund to their security deposit, less any repairs.
