Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
Apt Fire
The apartment units next to mine got fire, 100% destroyed. Mine was unsafe to stay in; therefore, I was assigned another unit to continue my lease, but lots of my belongings were damaged due to smoke and water during the fire. I have no rental insurance. I had to take work days off and hire a moving company to relocate. The apartment people said residents caused the fire, so they wouldn't help or pay. Am I entitled for some compensation? What should I do? Thanks for answering my question.
