Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Someone in my apt./breaking lease

I have only been my apt. for 4 months.About 1 month ago when my boyfriend left for work I started hearing noises in the living room.I layed on my be staring into the mirror, when I heard my bedroom door being opened. When I turned over to look at the door I heard someone running in my apt.I got up and the sliding glass door was all the way open. When I went to the apt to tell them what happened all they said was ''you don't have the bar behind the door?'' ''It should have been there when you moved in'' She then told me she would have someone over that day, which he never came.2 weeks later when I was at home I heard noises at the front door when I got up someone was standing in front of my door and covered the peep hole and tried to open the door. I went to my apt after having the cops come 2 times now, and told them that I was leaving. The manager told me to give them a 30 day notice, and she also told me she had no idea it even happened the 1st time.I have applied at another apt. and when they called the apt I live in they told them that I was not being let out of my lease but breaking it.Is there anything I can do about this?I mean this is the second time this has happened in 4 months and I just dont'feel safe in my own apt.

There are some remedies you have under the property code but too complicated to explain in an email. Feel free to call me.
