I am being cheated out of my deposit
Hello,
I just received the itemized list for my security deposit 33 days later. The letter was post mark 31 days later and not within my the 30 time frame. The landlord did not show to do the walkthrough on the day we moved out. We did take pictures to document how we left the house and she did not include the original list that we turned in when we first moved into the house notating the things wrong with the house. She is trying to charge us for things that was wrong with the house when we moved in. Also she is trying to charge us for bulk trash removal and spraying for roaches and a tree that died when a thunderstom came through. She is also trying to say we had electricity connected illegally. I can prove we had the electricity with a valid electric provider as well as provide the bills from the entire year we lived there with the electric provider. She also is trying to say we did not clean the property because we did not move the stove to clean up under it. She is also charging us for painting and a toilet seat that was there when we moved in and several other items. I feel this is ridiculous and that she purposedly went through the house after we moved out so she can keep out security deposit. How do I fight this?

There are very specific provisions on the law that landlords must follow.
