Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
Eviction
Can the owner of a home evict the tenets (who do not have a contract on the home) by giving them text message 8 days before she wants them out? Does she need to go thru the courts?

Re: Eviction
The landlord has to use the court system to evict you. The landlord has to also properly use the procedures and timelines set up for the purpose.
Check the website of the Attorney General for more guidelines on the landlord's responsibilities.
I caution you, however, that if the landlord uses the court system, the eviction will show up in public records, making it difficult for you to rent a new place.
