Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Eviction

I have paid my rent for the month and the tenant wants to evict me in 6 days. Can she do that? She came to the house with a police officer and demanded that I give her the keys to the house in six days. Please tell me what I can do to stop this unjust eviction. Is there a law that protects the tenant from something like this. Please let me know as I'am desperate.

Re: Eviction

The requirements for eviction are 1) a notice to vacate must be mailed/sent/delivered to you. When the time in the notice expires, landlord must then file a complaint for eviction (forcible detainer) You will be served with papers (may be left on your door) which will tell you when your court date is. If you lose at court, you have five days to appeal or to vacate the property. If you do not move or appeal the landlord may obtain a writ of possession and the constable will remove your possessions from the property. If none of this has happened, then you are not evicted.
