Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
have a friend that moved in 10 months ago. Things are not going good and she was told the rent is now 425.00per month (up from 400.00) She agrees writes the check for January and dates it December 29 with a note for January rent. I deposit the check and the next day I am told by her to hold the check because she has decided to move. What do I do if she puts a stop payment on this check. How can she change her mind in a day and just walk away without any notice. What are my options Please help

Assuming she is a month-to-month tenant, and there is no lease, she is at a minimum required to give you 30 days notice.
