Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
Furniture Held Hostage
I moved my furniture into a friend's apartment. We had no agreement, written or oral, for me to pay rent. After 2 months, my friend asked me to leave. When I called to arrange to pick up my furniture, my friend stated that he would not allow me to get my furniture until I payed him $600 rent. What are my legal rights?
