Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

my husband, myself and our two children are staying with some friends that are leaseing a single family residence. The landlord has just threatened to take legal action against my family if we do not move out in the next two weeks. Can they take any legal action against my family or do they have to hold the people who signed the lease legally responsible?

The landlord can sue to evict you. The lease will have restrictions about who can live in the residence (that is, how many people). Once he's asked you to leave, and you don't, you're a trespasser.
