Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
I'am taking my old landlords to court for not giving my security deposite back. They claim I did not give a 30 day notice. We wrote out the 30 day notice and sent it in the same envelope as our last months rent. They cashed the money order that was in there but state we never gave them notice. I did not get a certified letter, I thought by putting letter in with last months rent would be good. Do you think I would have a case to get my deposite back? We are going on the show Judge Joe Brown next week.

Yes, you have a good case.
Your case would have been BETTER if you had sent the letter by certified mail.
I assume that you kept copies of the letter and the money order.
The trial will consist of: You testifying as to the truth, and the other side lying. The Judge will then have to decide whom to believe.
