Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
I am interested in a rental property, however the linoleum flooring in the rental is badly damaged and does need replacing. I mentioned the flooring looks like it needs to be replaced, as it is half ripped up in the kitchen and laundry room or completely gone in some small spots. She stated the property comes as-is with the flooring. I have not signed any paperwork, nor have I had a walk through with anyone from the company. My question is, is it legal to rent a property in Texas "as-is" even with the flooring obviously needing replacement?

Yes. And if you rent it in this condition, make sure you have photos of the conditions, and make sure they conditions are noted on the walk-through.
