Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

does the landlord owe me my deposit?

I just left a rental property where there was no contract, just a verbal agreement for a month to month rent...the only thing the landlord wanted was the yard kept clean and mowed. I lived there for about 6 months, gave 30 days written notice, cleaned the house, moved, went back for my deposit, and know she says she does not have to give me the deposit back because I did not live there for at least a year. Do I have a leg to stand on before I go postal on this lady????

Yes you do. Did you give her your forwarding address in writing? If so, she has obligations to you, and if she doesn't do it, then you have a right to multiple damages. Go to the webite for the Texas Attorney General, and look under the section for landlord/tenant. The specific directions are contained there. Good luck.
