Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
Can my Landlord terminate a lease because he sales the property
Can my Landlord terminate a lease because he sales the property?
I have nine months left on my 12 month lease and my landlord has sold the duplex I live in. He has asked that both apartments be vacated per the request of the buyer.
Granted he is a nice guy, and has proposed to refund 100% of the deposit and a full months rent the day escrow opens and additional 800 dollars at the time of move out.
Is this fare? Or is he liable to buy me out of the remaining nine months?
Thanks for your help.

He can buy out your lease if he wants to. Otherwise the lease is binding on the new owner.
