Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
Landlord/Tenant issue
I signed a lease a few months back. The landlord did not put the correct payment amount on the lease. I made payments according to the lease. Now they are telling me that I have to pay the amount plus late fees or be evicted. Even though I went by the lease and the error is on their part can they do that?

If you have a signed and enforceable lease agreement, then those are the terms the parties are bound by. A lawyer would probably send the landlord a certified letter confirming the lease agreement, and enter it as evidence in an eviction suit. You may have a winnable case.
