Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
If there was no lease agreement drawn up or signed. can my aunt take me to court for so-called outstanding balance. just a verbal agreement no witness just she and i and my minor daughter. two stayed in her ex-husband home,just moved out this year. was paying her $500 a mth. but she did want to repair the house. replace hotwater heater,fix the wiring in house ,rid mold, or repair leak in house. do i have to pay her anything.

A verbal agreement can still be enforceable under a variety of circumstances. There may be a proof problem, but if your aunt can prove the agreement you will probably owe her according to that agreement (in the same way you should be able to hold her to the agreement).
