Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

I was on a lease with my boyfirend and i want to get out of it because it is an abusive relationship, I have never filed any police reports but i have text messages where he has kicked me out. How can i get my name off of the lease he wants to take me to court to pay my part of the lease but he put me out.

You must get the apartments to allow you to be removed, and they will not unless he agrees. If he sues you, you will have proof that he kicked you out thus you could not go in the place. Legally, you are still on the lease and responsible to the apartments, but if he is paying it, you have much less worry.
