Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
lease contract
It has come to my knowledge that my Landlord has just been recently released from prison, where he spent 2 years for a convition of sexual assult of a child. We have only been at this location for 5 mon. I have three small children, and he is around often to check on things. I have a huge moral issue with this, aside from that what are my rights, as far as wanting to move from this location, and is there a manditory disclosure in the state of texas to protect tenents and there families from preditors who lease property.

There is mandatory registration for sex offenders. Sex offenders must disclose their addresses. Check the DPS website. You use the infomration there to assist you in finding another place to live where there are no sex offenders.
