Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
I live at an apartment complex in Lubbock, Tx. I live with three other roommates, and we each have our own seperate room and seprate lease. Almost a week ago, the complex installed dead bolt locks on all the rooms taking out the older locks. The problem is the key that was originally given to us no longer works for our bedroom. The management has failed to provide us with new keys to lock our rooms. Are they liable for any stolen and damaged property in our rooms because of failure to give us new keys?

Check you lease. However, if the complex replaced the locks on the door, it makes sense that they would provide you with keys. Notify them.
