Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
To make this short I'll just say there is damage to the unit, mostly caused by issues not in my control, and a little bit that my family did cause..
I had rent paid through the 31st of dec. I did my move-out inspection with the property mgr on 16th dec, and she said it was one of the cleanest units she's ever done, and handed me my $600 deposit back on the spot.
Now the owners have moved into my unit as of 27th dec, and say they see all the damage and they will sue me for every ounce of damage, that obviously caused by me (like a cigarette burn in the carpet) and that obviously not caused by me (like mold in the drywall from a leak outside. When it rains the entire wall gets soaked)
Can they sue me after having a clean move-out inspecting and receiving my full deposit back?

They can sue you, but based upon the information you have provided, it is unlikely that they would prevail.
