I moved in to an apartment already infested with bed bugs

I moved into an apartment June 16,2009 only to realize that the manager had moved my family and I into an apartment knowing that there had been an issue with bed bugs. I didn't find out because she volunteered the info but because my new neighbor downstairs is also fighting the bed bug fight. I am disgusted. What are they liable for and what are my rights? Do they replace my furniture? Do they pay for my moving cost? Is it legal to move in a new tenant knowing that the apartment has such an issue? Thats not the only issue with the apartment just the most worrisome. Please help. what do I do?

If you cannot negotiate a solution with the manager, file suit in small claims court to establish the manager's prior knowledge of the bugs. Sue for damages and release of the contract.
