Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

I moved out of my apt after giving 60 days notice in writing. My move out day was march 31 and after i moved out i got them to do a walk through, and i left, they called me today saying that i didnt turn in my keys and therefore they were going to charge me everyday for rent until i turn them in, can they do that legally? it didnt say so in my lease

It will be interesting to see how they plan to "charge" you after you have moved out and don't owe them any rent. Perhaps they plan to take it out of your deposit (which they are required to refund to you)?

If they dock your refund, you should think about suing them in small claims court. The filing fee is $109.00.
