Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
moving after lease is up without notice
my lease was up in april.i intended on renewing my lease but an incident with one of my neighbors has me changing my mind.Without to much detail I was assaulted ,police were involved and now I fear for me and my families safety.I no longer want to live here.I'm required to give 60 day notice.Month to month increases rent 120 dollars. Is there any way I can legally move out now without a notice. I cannot afford the increase and no longer feel safe enough to sign another lease.

Re: moving after lease is up without notice
Since you are month-to-month, your notice is 30 days. Give your notice, move out and pay the increased rent until you do.
