Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
I parked my truck in a parking space at my apartment complex where I am on a lease. The parking sace was reserved for a specific apartment (not mine) and 2 1/2 hours after I parked there my truck was towed and I was not ever given notice. Because I am on a lease there and have been for the past 2 1/2 years my vehicle was not unauthorized but it was not authorized to park in that space. The space was marked only with paint on the ground at the end of the spot and nothing else. I was only aware of the tow because I called the towing company and found out the next morning. My question is that I pulled the occupations codes and found that the apartment complex must give notice to the vehicle owner before the tow can be done if it is for an unauthorized vehicle but I am confused on what notice I should have been given before they towed my vehicle if any.

Read your apartment lease. If it covers this situation, you may have consented to the tow when you signed the lease.
