Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

My problem is this, I recently moved into this complex (starting on December 27th) and every week the water has been shot off for a 6 hour period in the middle of the day. This happens once or twice a week. We have been given as little as one days notice and today the water was stilled turned off over 4 hours after the time stated on the notice. As you can imagine this is incredibly inconvenient as both my girl friend and I work in the evening and have been unable to use the bathroom, shower, or get ready for work. As a result my professional appearance has suffered and I have received warnings about it at work. The apartment complex has told me that I'm out of luck. I was never informed of this apparently pending and non-emergency construction prior to my move in. Is there anything that I can do or expect from my landlord. Thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

If you want something from your landlord, your are going to have to make him provide it to you. You will need a local attorney to help you with this. Typically, landlords are not impressed by letters from tenants. On the other hand, letters from lawyers will focus their attention.

If there is nothing that the landlord can do about your water, perhaps they can waive any penalty provisions in their lease so you and your girlfriend can move to a complex where you will have water available when you need it..
