Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
We want to rent a bedroom/bath of our personal home out for additional income. We have a 3.5 year old daughter, so safety and emotional harmony are a primary concern. What questions can we legally ask of a prospective rentor? Most articles I find deal with renting a unit that is not physically shared with the owner. If we feel someone is not a good fit, how do we convey that without getting ourselves in legal trouble?

Get the name date of birth and Texas Drivers license number.
Use this to do a criminal record check.
If you feel someone is not a good fit. let them know before the rental agreement is signed.
You don't really have to tell them anything if you make the decision before the agreement is signed.
