Re: Renting without lease
You are a month-to-month tenant. Failure to pay rent within the specified time in the notice leaves you susceptible to eviction through the courts. The court process will take longer. Know that in Texas, evictions show up on public databases, and make it very difficult to rent again. You may want to try to negotiate this with the landlord.
