Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Roommate won't go

I have a roommate who I know for a fact is dealing marijuana out of our apartment. I confronted him with a long list of complaints and politley gave him more than 2 months to find a new apartment. Not only did he move his stash but he refuses to move out. I can not take his name off the lease and he refuses to go with me to have my name taken off the lease. My boyfriend, who also lives there and is also on the lease, is a firefighter and will lose his job if the police were to raid our apartment because of our roommate and his drug activities. If he continues to refuse to go with us to have our names taken off the lease, what other options do we have?

Re: Roommate won't go

It sounds like the option of staying is far more costly than the option of leaving and breaking the lease. You and your boyfriend need to go to the apt manager and negotiate the best deal you can get to get out of the lease, and then move.
