roommate
If my roommate is doing something illegal in our house or yard and the police find out, can I be held liable for it?

Maybe. It depends upon your culpability. Some crimes, such as possession, intent is established by knowledge and acquiesence to the crime. Maybe law enforcement can prove your involvement by providing the means and ability to continue the crime, by providing a home. You would be wise to hire a lawyer for a consultation, explain all of the circumstances involved, and get legal advice specific to your situation.
