Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

My roommate and his visitor.

My roommate's boyfriend is always over. I have talked to her repeatedly about this, yet it seems to fall on deaf years. I have spoken to the leasing office and what they told me was that I could release her from the lease. The only problem with that is that the financial repercussions would fall on me. I would be oblidged to fufill the lease. I simply cannot afford to do that. Of course, she will not release me from the lease as well. My question is, what can I do to keep her boyfriend out our apartment for the remainder of the lease? Can I do anything to keep these two from further mooching off me?. The lease is up in 7 months. HELP!

Re: My roommate and his visitor.

For a small filing fee, you can take the boyfriend and roommate to small claims court and ask for a contribution for his portion of the rent for the remainder of the lease. Sounds like they are deadbeats and it may not be worth the trouble. Even if you win, it isn't a guaranty that you'll be paid.
