Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

I signed a 6 month lease. I paid all 6 months and decided to move. I didnt give a 30 day notice. The apartment manager told me I would be charged a relet fee plus a full months rent as a penalty for not giving a 30 day notice. Can they do this? I thought I would be responsible just for the cost of reletting fee.

Read your lease. It will tell you what your obligations were. It seem ridiculous that if you leave after a six-month lease, you have any sort of obligation at all (other than the obligation to leave the premises in good shape).
