I sued a property manager for return of my deposit
I sued my landlords Property manager (PM) in small claims court for return of my deposit. I think I sued the wrong person, even though the PM sent me a cert mail stating I must pay her at her business. The landlord signed the lease, but i do not have a good address for her in Calif., my demand letter was returned. Can I add the landlord to the existing suit with an admenment as as additional defendant, if so how do i serve the landlord?
or, do i have to remove the PM from the suit and start all over. She has been served & answer ''denial can not sue her in her capacity. Since then she hired an attorney. can you help me? thank you--name removed--

The only person/entity responsible for your deposit is the landlord/owner. The manager is merely the agent for the owner and is not personally responsible. You can look up the address of the owner by checking the property address on the Dallas Appraisal District website (or whatever county, almost all are online now). You need to amend and add the owner and I would dismiss against the manager.
