Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

My tenants gave appropriate 30-day notice and vacated the property early, leaving only a vacuum & cleaning supplies. I gave my new tenants a key early so they could paint the kitchen before moving in. In fact, they moved a few furniture items in 5 days early, stacking it in one of the vacant rooms. After the carpets were cleaned, they actually moved in, 2 days early. I did not ask for nor receive any compensation...it was a gesture of Christmas spirit on my part. Now my former tenants are claiming that I breached their lease and owe them 5 days pro-rated rent, and have threatened suit in court. Are they correct...do I owe them? Are there further consequences if I don't pay them and end up in court? (Note: the former tenants removed their vacuum & cleaning supplies 3 days before the end of the month and left their keys for me by prior arrangement. I therefore assumed they had relinquished the property.)

They're wrong. Ignore their demands. They aren't going to sue you.
