Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas
Terrible apartment
I moved into an apt complex less than 2 weeks ago and they failed to notify me that my apartment was a flood risk. After I told them it was flooding after heavy rains they said they would fix it and still have not. Also, I have called several times about unsafe things about the property and informed them that I took a nasty fall on cement due to sewage and mud that has collected outside of my apartment. What can I do/say to get them to do something about this?

Make your request for repairs in writing - in order to preserve your remedies under the Property Code - and send it certified mail, return receipt requested. Also, notice Code Enforcement. They can make the landlord make repairs.
